Marie Fredriksson was born on May 30, 1958, in a small village of Össjö. She was the youngest in a family of seven members: father Gösta, mother Inez, brother Sven-Arne and sisters Tina, Ulla-Britt and Anna-Lisa.

Father Gösta was the musical genious of the family: he could sing very well and he also played some instruments, and he and the kids used to sing and play swedish songs all together.

Marie started to take piano lessons with her sister Tina, and soon she realized that what she really liked was the creative subjects, like music, painting or acting. Marie even started to compose her own songs, and by this time she bought her first single, “Valleri”, by the Monkees.
